Designed with added features than the PlayStation 2, the all new Playstation 3 weighs about 11 pounds. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally just like other consoles. Either way, its striking design makes it an ideal option to be placed in the living room. However, we need to admit a fact that its polished top surface is highly likely to be prone to finger marks. When compared to Xbox 360, the PS3 runs quietly, but a little louder unlike the silent Wii. Well, the unit doesn’t gets too toasty with the air around it being warmer after hours of continuous play. PS3 is available in two versions, namely the $599 model and the $499 model. The former is build with a 60-gigabyte hard disk, 802.11b/g wireless networking, Memory stick, CompactFlash slots, etc. The later model has a 20-gigabyte drive and omits Wi-Fi capability.

Well, you can easily replace the hard drive for either of these versions with the help of a manual that comes along with it. Although these two versions have their own characteristic features, they do have some features in common which include: Blu-ray slot drive, built-in Bluetooth 2.0 support, HDMI-output and 4 HSB 2.0 ports. The heart of PS3 being the CPU, which runs at 3.2 GHz, developed in cooperation by Sony, Toshiba as well as IBM. Well the ideas are pretty clear when it comes to buying PS3. You need to ensure that you get all cables necessary for the installation. In order to experience great graphics capabilities, you need to purchase HDMI cable on your own. You don’t have to be a techie when it comes to its installation. Even a newbie can hook up without having to read the manual.

If you want to read the technical aspect about the PS3, yes you can make use of its manual and get some handy information. Ensure to configure the high-definition output. The overall experience that you would feel after using PS3 is this: Easy setup and excellent sound. So, get started now. Leave alone your old play station and begin your hunt for the new versioned Playstation 3.

According to T3 magazine, Sony is planning to release a new slimmer, redesigned PlayStation 3 console.

In the report, a source has said that the new updated design will be smaller, lighter and may contain a 160GB HDD. There have been other rumors recently claiming PS3s with larger capacity HDDs are coming but this latest rumor seems a bit far-fetched, considering how young the PS3 is.

Sony, as is policy, refused to comment. “We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.”

The rumor is not completely off base though. Sony has introduced slim versions of its PSP, original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 after production costs fell.

Infinity Ward had E3 attendees jaws to the floor with an on-stage demo of Modern Warfare 2. Now here’s over six minutes of new footage to gawp at. Can anyone say “snowmobiles?”

The Modern Warfare 2 presentation showed how players will have to scale snowy terrain in harsh conditions, with combat affected by visibility thus having to gingerly rely on commands from elsewhere.

This trailers a little different. It’s all action right from the off, culminating in a frantic finale involving a speedy snowmobile fueled gunfight. It’s looking awesome.
